Dr. Maritza Amaya Almanzar Mejia graduated from medical school from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, Santiago, in the Dominican Republic. She completed a specialism in psychiatry with a sub-specialty in geriatric psychiatry at the Maimonides University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
